The Bloom in the Boom

Written by Ken Carman

After the single seed lands…

Oh beautiful flower
Bursting forth from the ground
With so much sound
Many…
Many…
Many miles away
Only there is where
Even the deaf were left to hear
Distant vibration

Closer
Oh so
Very…
Very…
Very close
The giant flower gathered humanity
In its petals
Melting their essence
Into the boom
With an atom splitting bloom

Nagasaki

Hiroshima

Proving even brutally ugly
Has its brief moments
