Brewer Profile: Tom Vista

Written by Ken Carman I met Tom Vista: aka, Hop God, aka Hop Tyrant, a year or two after I joined Music City Brewers, if I remember right. A bit tall, crew cut, slightly large ears and probably the only voice that can compete and win over my admittedly loud stage voice. I met Tom Vista [...]

“Our next President: 2013?” Image courtesy tombsofkobol.com Last week’s column has solidified into a flood of Politico Breaking News updates slamming my mailbox. Does God read Inspection? Probably not, but I think my own premise of the Dems losing big in November has a lot more gravitas now. Everyone knows about the proverbial rats leaving a sinking [...]

Without intent, I have collected well over 1,000 beer bottles since the early 70s. When something finally had to be done about the cheap paneling in this old modular, I had a choice. Tear down the walls while, oh, so carefully, replacing the often rotted 1X3s. Or: cover them with… The Bottle Collection. Written by Ken [...]

More on Beaver River “Showdown”

Written by Alan Wechsler for Adirondack Explorer I thought this would be a nice addition to my last edition of Inspection. Bear in mind it’s not quite accurate: especially when it comes to comments state officials have made. They have made remarks to us that are more foreboding than this, but I’m sure they want [...]

The docks at Grassy Point near Beaver River Station Call the detectives. Call the cops. Pray for divine intervention. Or better yet, defend yourselves; defend your fellow citizen’s rights to not have their property taken away from them… please. If for no other reason then you; your town, may be next. A state [...]

I discovered a great quote. Classwarfare was responding to Palin’s insistence that we stop using “retarded.” As you know, sometimes manuals will advise you to “retard the timing.” So I guess we will have to change all those tech manuals and stuff concerning carburetors and ignition timing to read “SPECIAL NEEDS IGNITION TIMING.”
